  • Q: Do you have any corporate stores?
  • A: Yes, Tan Pro does own several corporate stores allowing us to keep in touch with the tanning business. We feel it is important to continue to own and operate stores so that we are in touch with our clientele allowing us to be a pioneer in the industry versus a follower in the industry. Often times corporate stores are used to establish new markets that are later completed with licensee stores.
  • Q: How long has Tan Pro been in business?
  • A: Tan Pro opened its first store in 1998.
  • Q: How long does it take to open a store?
  • A: Approximately 4 months from securing capital and the site location. If there are additional improvements that are required to be completed by the landlord the time required to open a store may be impacted.
  • Q: Will Tan Pro help me find a site?
  • A: Our real estate experts will help you evaluate a market and locate a specific location. By reviewing the Real Estate page you should get a basic idea of the site characteristics and demographics that are typically suitable for a Tan Pro location. • Q: Do you charge any global advertising fees?
  • A: We do not charge any overall marketing fees at this time. Each location will be required to cover their own specific advertising costs. If you are considering a location within an established market your store will be allocated a percentage of the general advertising for that market. For example, if your store would become the fifth store in an existing market your salon would be responsible for one-fifth of any general advertising expenses such as yellow page ads, television advertising, radio advertising, coupon booklets and direct mail advertising.
  • Q: How much money can I make?
  • A: Profitability will vary considerably depending on such factors as: location, sales, occupancy, operating expenses, financing terms (if any), your ability to manage the business, and various other factors. These figures are estimates of the total investment required to open a Tan Pro USA mega salon and operatin months. For opening purposes the equipment is shown with 20 of the rooms containing equipment. The balance of the equipment is estimated to be purchased at a later date with excess cash flow from operations. It is possible to exceed costs listed in the areas above. Figures assume that the site is in a “vanilla box” status with 2 ADA bathrooms, 600amp 220volt 3 phase electrical service, and a minimum of 1 ton of air conditioning for every 150 square feet of space. Some of the costs will vary in relation to the physical size and location of the salon. The above numbers do not include any exterior alterations or elaborate interior alterations.*Equipment is eligible for conventional equipment leasing or financing through unrelated third parties. Obtaining financing for the equipment would decrease the up-front capital investment required by the licensee.
